Don't Get Left Behind!
Today's workplace looks dramatically different than it did just a few years ago. Technological advances have and will continue to have a marked impact on how, where and when businesses operate. Research has proven that the courses you take in high school will have a large impact on how successful you are after school. Today's employers, college and university officials are sending a clear message - it's the courses that matter.

Did You Know?

  • As many as 70 percent of the jobs you will apply for after high school may not have yet been created
  • That only 17 percent of job applicants can be placed in jobs because so many lack the necessary basic education skills required in today's labor market (Center for State Scholars)
  • That the United States may face a shortage of 12 million college-educated workers in the next decade (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics)
  • That 7 out of 10 students graduate from high school without completing the courses needed to succeed in college or the workplace (U.S. Department of Education)

Become a part of a growing movement that will better prepare you for success after high school not matter what route you choose - college, vocational school, the military or work. It's the Kentucky Scholars Program.
